BackUp Dance Studio Staffing ("BackUp," "we," "us," or "our") connects dance studios seeking short-term class coverage with qualified substitute dance teachers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, teacher application, studio request form, and related communications; how we use and share that information; and the choices available to you.
By using our website or submitting information to BackUp, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. This policy does not replace any separate consent, authorization, waiver, or service agreement that may apply to background screening or participation in the BackUp network.

Information You Provide
We may collect information that you provide directly, including:
Contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and general location.
Teacher application information, such as teaching experience, dance styles and levels, education, certifications, resume, availability, preferred travel area, transportation information, references, and minimum hourly rate.
Studio request information, such as the studio name, owner or manager contact information, location, class schedule, styles and levels needed, offered hourly rate, and details relevant to the requested coverage.
Communications you send to us, including questions, feedback, scheduling details, and information needed to coordinate a potential match.
Other information you voluntarily provide through forms, email, telephone, or text message.
Website and Device Information
Our Squarespace website may automatically collect technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, and approximate location. Squarespace may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the site or that support analytics and performance features. Your available cookie choices may depend on the settings enabled on our website and in your browser.
Background Screening Information
BackUp does not ask applicants to enter a Social Security number, government identification number, or detailed criminal-history information into the general Squarespace teacher application. If BackUp later conducts or coordinates CORI, SORI, identity verification, or another background-screening process, it will use a separate process and obtain any authorization required by applicable law. Information received through that process will be handled separately and shared only as permitted by law and the applicable authorization.
How We Use Information
We may use information to:
Review teacher applications and assess qualifications for substitute opportunities.
Evaluate studio requests and identify potentially compatible substitute teachers.
Communicate with teachers and studio representatives about applications, requests, availability, matches, scheduling, and service updates.
Create limited teacher profiles and maintain internal records used for matching.
Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and services.
Prevent fraud, misuse, or safety concerns and comply with legal obligations.
Maintain business records and respond to questions, disputes, or requests.
How Matching Information Is Shared
To facilitate a potential match, BackUp may share limited professional information about a substitute teacher with a studio, such as first name, teaching experience, dance styles, qualifications, availability, general travel area, and rate compatibility. We do not intend to provide the substitute's direct email address, telephone number, home address, or other unnecessary personal contact information during the initial matching stage.
After the teacher accepts the opportunity and the match is confirmed, BackUp may provide the teacher and studio with the contact and assignment information reasonably needed to coordinate the engagement. Studios may also share class and location details with prospective teachers through BackUp.
When We May Disclose Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
With the substitute teachers and studio representatives involved in evaluating or completing a potential match, as described above.
With service providers that support our website, forms, communications, file storage, analytics, or other business operations, including Squarespace and Google, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.
When required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of BackUp, our users, or others.
In connection with a merger, sale, financing, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections where applicable.

BackUp does not sell personal information for money.
Data Storage and Retention
Form submissions and related records may be stored through Squarespace, Google Drive or Google Sheets, email, and other business systems used by BackUp. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to review applications, provide matching services, maintain business and legal records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with applicable law. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of record and why it was collected.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain. However, no website, email system, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial account information, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information through a general website form unless BackUp specifically provides a secure process for that purpose.
Your Choices and Requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you previously provided. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and we may retain information when required or permitted for legal, security, recordkeeping, or legitimate business purposes. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through these forms.
